Adeo’s Socratic Circle is geared toward students who have already received the Sacrament of Confirmation (Grades 8-12). These sessions provide an environment that encourages critical thinking through scholarship and discussion. The students read articles, discuss current issues and examine them from an ethical and philosophical standpoint. The topics range from the relationship between faith and reason, the meaning of freedom, how human passions affect us, the distinction between science and technology, the nature of work and its relationship with leisure and culture, and the role of the conscience in human acts.

The atmosphere encourages a dynamic exchange of ideas among the students. The intellectual quality of Socratic Circle also helps prepare students for important steps in their future, including essay writing, college application preparation, and interview skills.
