ATRIUM
Whoever learns to pray in their childhood will never forget. Childhood faith remains deep in the soul.
Adeo’s Atrium program for children ages 3 to 6 uses the Montessori method to introduce small children to the Catholic faith. Through hands-on experience with small objects (e.g., small altar, chalice, lectern) and listening to stories, the children are taught about the Mass, the meaning of the colors in the Liturgy, and the parables of Jesus.
Atrium is based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, an approach to the religious formation of children initiated in 1954 by Dr. Sofia Cavaletti when she founded the Children’s Centre or “Atrium” in Rome, Italy. This methodology nurtures the child’s moral and psychological growth.
The Atrium approach acknowledges the religious potential present in every child at a very young age and their capacity to love and to be loved.
